Want to learn how to make your receipts work for you?
We’re always looking for ways to make extra money.
I want to share an app with you that I have been using for some time now that I absolutely love and recommend to all my friends.
It’s called Fetch Rewards and it’s one of my favorite money making apps.
What is Fetch Rewards?
It’s an app that allows you to turn your grocery receipts into points. If you’ve heard of Ibotta or Checkout 51, then it’s quite similar to those, but there’s a better advantage that you’ll see further down.
How Fetch Rewards works?
1. Download the app
You can sign up with an email address and password or through your Facebook login information.
2. Put in this referral code: FETCH2K
Using this referral code will allow you to earn a bonus 2,000 points
(Note: at the time of this writing, 1,000 points = $1, so signing up with this code gives you a bonus $2)
3. Scan any grocery receipt
Regardless of where you do your grocery shopping, you can scan your receipts. I’ve gone to some local grocery stores like Aldi and Save-a-Lot where most of the items are not name brand. I’ve still received points for these trips. Usually it’s 25 points for me, but every bit adds up.
You’ll scan your receipt by taking a picture of it. It’s easiest to lay your receipt on a flat surface before snapping the picture.
4. Earn points
There are so many brands that you could possibly earn points on that it’s like throwing money away every time you don’t scan your grocery receipts. I’m talking thousands of brands.
Some of the popular brands you’ll see are:
…and so many more!
Most often the points are added to your account immediately.
5. Redeem your points
Convert your points into $$$ in the form of gift cards. The lowest redemption I’ve seen is $3, so if you download the app and put the code in, you’ll be $1 away from your first gift card.
You can also choose to donate your points to charity as well.
Some of the category of gift cards are:
- Retail – Amazon, Adidas, Nike, Marshall’s
- Fashion – GAP, Foot Locker, Old Navy, Aeropostale, Banana Republic
- Home Goods – Bed Bath & Beyond, HomeGoods, Crate & Barrel
- Restaurants – Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, IHOP, Papa John’s
There’s a plethora of companies available to redeem your points for a gift card. I’ve only named a small amount just to give you an idea. They are gift cards from companies that you do shop at.
How to earn even more points with Fetch Rewards
Refer your friends and family.
Once you sign up, you’ll get your own referral code. Typically when you refer people, you earn 2,000 points and your family member/friend earns 2,000 points.
You can earn as many referral points as you want. There’s no limit.
Take advantage of bonus points
Sometimes certain brands have offers where you’ll earn more points than the traditional points.
If you haven’t scanned a receipt in a long time, Fetch Rewards will try to entice you to scan a receipt by offering you a one time bonus.
Every so often, Fetch Rewards will also run a deal where they offer bonus referral points. So instead of the usual 2,000 referral points, they’ll offer a 4,000 referral bonus.
- No clipping coupons
- No scanning individual products
- Only have to scan the receipt
- Points for every receipt
- Don’t have to activate offers beforehand
- Link your Amazon account to earn points on qualifying purchases automatically
- If the receipt is blurry, the app won’t be able to pick up the individual purchases
- Points are redeemed for gift cards or charity and not cash/PayPal
How many receipts can I scan?
You can scan up to 14 receipts within a 7 day period.
How long do I have to scan a receipt after checkout?
You can scan your receipts any time within 14 days of your check out date.
How can I make sure no items are missed on my receipt?
Scan your receipts on a flat surface and have a clear, solid background. When scanning a long receipt, make sure no items are overlapping. Make sure your receipt is not smudged, stained or crinkled.
Do my points ever expire?
As long as you stay active on the app, they won’t. If you’re inactive for 90 days or more, your points will expire. So keep on scanning!
Final Take Aways
I LOVE Fetch Rewards. I’ve had several family members sign up and use it because it’s so easy to earn money. My son even has it downloaded on his phone and will try to steal my receipts for points 🙂
It’s become second nature to me. Everybody in my house knows not to throw any receipts away.
If you choose to download Fetch Rewards, I promise you’ll thank me later. Free money is just a few clicks away. Don’t forget to use the referral code (FETCH2K)
for 2,000 bonus points ($2), redeemable at $3.
